New Jersey Maternity Photographer: In-Home Session Tip # 1

Book your Session at the Right Time

I recommend booking your session right when you get out of your first trimester. This way, you can get your session on your dream photographer’s booking calendar ASAP. You want to schedule your maternity photo shoot between 28-32 weeks of pregnancy. You definitely want to make sure your bump is visible for people to know that you are pregnant. You also want to be relatively comfortable, so I wouldn’t recommend waiting until the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Decide on Your Vibe

In home maternity photo sessions can all have different vibes depending on what you are looking for. I definitely recommend discussing with your photographer what kind of photo shoot you want. If you are looking for a more sexier look, then a boudoir photographer might be your best bet. A boudoir maternity session might include more revealing outfits and sexier poses. However, if you are looking for more of an intimate, cozier look and feel; then I would suggest wearing clothing that you are super comfortable in. This can include jeans and a sweater, or leggings and a sports bra. Lastly, if you are looking for a more elegant look; then I would suggest purchasing a long flowy maternity dress. I’d recommend this dress if you need some inspiration.

Vary Your Poses

Your posing will again all be determined by the vibe you are going for. For a more sexier boudoir maternity session, your poses will most likely include just you rather than your and your partner. Your poses will be a bit more sexier, as well as more posed and styled. If you are going for a more cozy and laid back vibe, your poses will be a bit more candid and natural. They will also most likely include your partner. Poses may involve you just hanging out, and having fun with your partner. If you were looking for more of a serious and elegant look, your poses will often be less candid and natural. The photographer will most likely tell you exactly how to stand, sit, or look.

I really hope these ideas will inspire you to book your in – home maternity photoshoot. Remember, just because you are pregnant in the winter doesn’t mean you can’t have a beautiful maternity session.

EXPLORE SERVICES

My name is Danielle. I started Danielle Stio Photography in 2021. There is something about being an entrepreneur that really motivates me. This is more than a hobby for me. It is a passion and a calling.
I started this business at a very dark time in my life. I was searching for meaning and purpose and I found that through photography. My hope is that I can put a smile on my clients faces not only during their session , but after their session; and especially when their gallery is delivered.
