Hey there! Chances are you are reading this blog post because you want to capture precious family photos at the famous Jersey Shore. You’ve come to the right place! Jersey Shore photos are my favorite kind of photos to capture, especially in the summer. I’m Danielle! I’m a New Jersey family photographer. In this blog post, I highlighted 3 tips on how to capture the best family photos at the Jersey Shore.
What do I mean by this? Doesn’t every beach in New Jersey have a sunset? Yes, but a sunset directly over the water is only found at specific beaches in NJ. Because the sun sets in the west, we don’t have the luxury of a sunset over the ocean. Instead, we have to rely on barrier island beaches that have a bay side. The sun will set beautifully over the bay which creates stunning backdrops. My favorite bay side beaches are Sandy Hook, Long Beach Island, and Wildwood Crest.
This photo was taken at the bay side at Sandy Hook Beach.
Golden hour is about one hour before the sun sets. Taking photos any earlier won’t give your photos that soft dreamy glow. So if you’re booking with a photographer, make sure they schedule the session during golden hour. If you are heading out with your own camera or I-phone, make sure you are planning to go out during golden hour for the best light.
Okay so I know this tip is hard to achieve, especially in the summer. There is nothing worse than a crowded beach and trying to capture family photos with nobody in the background. The one piece of advice I can give is stay away from beaches that are huge tourist attractions. For example, beaches with boardwalks and amusements are probably not the best choice. You want to head to beaches that are popular among day trippers and not there for the night life. So again, beaches with a huge night life are not a good choice. Another tip would be to not plan your photos on the weekends or on major holidays. The beaches tend to be more crowded on those nights.
Here are some great beach choices to look into: Sandy Hook, Sea Girt, Bradley Beach, Long Beach Island, Wildwood Crest.

I started this business at a very dark time in my life. I was searching for meaning and purpose and I found that through photography. My hope is that I can put a smile on my clients faces not only during their session , but after their session; and especially when their gallery is delivered.

"Working with her from booking up to when we took our photos was a breeze. She helped me pick out outfits for the family and was so responsive and kind when I was reaching out with questions or needing suggestions. I was so nervous now that our oldest is 17 months and doesn’t know how to sit still but she was so patient with us and completely understood when our toddler kept running away from the camera. Even with all the chaos I felt she was able to calm my anxiety and she got such beautiful photos."

"I found Danielle on a Facebook group over the summer and signed up to be notified for her fall shoots. She was very responsive, easy to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product - we love all the photos. She turned the photos around so quickly too. We’re so happy we chose Danielle to take our family photos this year and will definitely be using her in the future! Thanks again! 😊."

"My husband, 9 month old, and I took family photos for the first with Danielle and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Before we even took the photos she sent so many helpful documents with outfit suggestions and tips for taking pictures with babies! Then when we arrived she was so sweet and did an incredible job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera! Between directing us on how to pose, to making my daughter smile! She was so patient with us and really made sure that we got every shot we wanted!."
