Hey mama! Chances are you stumbled upon this blog post because you have a Jersey Shore Photoshoot scheduled. Or perhaps, you want to schedule one in the near future. Whatever brought you here, I’m so glad that you are reading this! I’m Danielle! I’m a New Jersey family photographer, and the famous Jersey Shore is one of my favorite locations to photograph at (especially in the summer.)
Here are my top 3 tips on planning outfits for your Jersey Shore Photoshoot!!!
When planning outfits for family photos, it’s important to choose 2 or 3 matching colors to put everyone in. In the photo above, mom and dad were in a similar color; but the boy was in a different color. If you need helping choosing a color palette; my free Style Guide has some examples as well as links to specific outfits. Some colors I would stay away from are: anything bright or neon, black, red, yellow, and orange. Good color combos are white, tan, shades of beige, and brown. Think: neutral tones!
This tip is very important. Yes, having professional photos taken is a time to dress up. However, for Jersey Shore photoshoot; it isn’t the time to be super fancy. Think: sundresses, long flowy dresses, rompers, buttons downs and khakis (for the guys.) A lot of my clients prefer to go barefoot and leave their shoes behind.
This tip is also super important. You definitely want to be comfortable. A lot of times during Jersey Shore photoshoots; I have my clients sit on the sand dunes for pictures. You don’t want to be wearing clothing that’s stiff or doesn’t fit right. I also have my clients do walking poses, which again, is easier to do when you are wearing something you feel comfortable in. So think, clothing that is lightweight, breathable, loose, and flowy.
And that’s my top 3 tips to find the perfect outfits for Jersey Shore photoshoot!! I really hoped this blog post inspired you. If you have not booked a session yet and would like to; feel free to send me a message here. I’d also love to connect over on Instagram! You can send me a DM here.

EXPLORE SERVICES
My name is Danielle. I started Danielle Stio Photography in 2021. There is something about being an entrepreneur that really motivates me. This is more than a hobby for me. It is a passion and a calling.
I started this business at a very dark time in my life. I was searching for meaning and purpose and I found that through photography. My hope is that I can put a smile on my clients faces not only during their session , but after their session; and especially when their gallery is delivered.

Welcome I'm Danielle
"Working with her from booking up to when we took our photos was a breeze. She helped me pick out outfits for the family and was so responsive and kind when I was reaching out with questions or needing suggestions. I was so nervous now that our oldest is 17 months and doesn’t know how to sit still but she was so patient with us and completely understood when our toddler kept running away from the camera. Even with all the chaos I felt she was able to calm my anxiety and she got such beautiful photos."

"I found Danielle on a Facebook group over the summer and signed up to be notified for her fall shoots. She was very responsive, easy to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product - we love all the photos. She turned the photos around so quickly too. We’re so happy we chose Danielle to take our family photos this year and will definitely be using her in the future! Thanks again! 😊."

"My husband, 9 month old, and I took family photos for the first with Danielle and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Before we even took the photos she sent so many helpful documents with outfit suggestions and tips for taking pictures with babies! Then when we arrived she was so sweet and did an incredible job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera! Between directing us on how to pose, to making my daughter smile! She was so patient with us and really made sure that we got every shot we wanted!."
