Hey there! Are you a New Jersey mom looking for the best splash pads in New Jersey? You’ve stumbled upon the right place. In this blog post, you’ll discover 5 of the best splash pads (in my opinion) in the New Jersey area. If you don’t me already, I’m Danielle! I’m a New Jersey family photographer in the Central, New Jersey area. Aside from being a photographer, I’m also a New Jersey mom so I know how essential it is to get your little ones out of the house and into the fresh air. That’s why I took a break from my usual photography content and wrote this blog post!
Arthur Lewis Park in Green Brook is one of my favorite splash pads to bring my kids to in the summer. This park is a great option because there is so much more to do there besides play in the water (although that is fun too!) The park has three playgrounds as well! So when your kids are done splashing around in the water, have them dry off on one of the playgrounds on the property. There is a fairly large one that is great for the older kids and then a smaller one which is a great option for the younger ones. There is also a large field and tons of picnic tables so bring lunch and a picnic blanket.
Another one of my favorite splash pads in New Jersey is Raritan Rapids in Piscataway. This splash pad is part of the YMCA but you don’t have to be a member to enter into the splash pad. The only downside is you do have to pay a fee to enter (members get a discounted price.) However, regardless of the price; your littles ones can easily spend a few hours playing in the water without getting bored. To me, that’s definitely worth the fee. There are a ton of slides and a cute pirate ship that is great for the little ones. There are plenty of picnic tables & chairs within the splash pad area so be sure to bring snacks or pack a lunch.
Dorbrook is also an excellent choice for the best splash pad in New Jersey. Dorbrook is one of the best because there is so much more to do at the park than just the splash pad. There’s large open fields which are great for picnicking, a playground, and a ton of walking/hiking trails. So if you want to work up a sweat before heading to the splash pad, you can!
Colonial Park is a great park all around. Not only does it have a fun splash pad, but it has 2 playgrounds for the kids, miniature golf, paddle boats, and tons of walking paths. And all of the fun kid stuff is in the same area so you can experience all of the fun in one place! Colonial Park is also a great place to hike, bike, or take a walk with your kids. One of the other things I love about Colonial Park is it also has a Rose and Perrenial Garden area that is just so beautiful in the spring and summer. So after your done with the fun kid stuff, be sure to head over to the gardens to experience the beauty of nature!
There you have it! These are my top 4 best splash pads in New Jersey. I hope this list has helped give you some ideas on where to take your kiddos to this summer. If this blog post has helped you, be sure to check out this one as well: Best New Jersey Beach Day Trips.

EXPLORE SERVICES
My name is Danielle. I started Danielle Stio Photography in 2021. There is something about being an entrepreneur that really motivates me. This is more than a hobby for me. It is a passion and a calling.
I started this business at a very dark time in my life. I was searching for meaning and purpose and I found that through photography. My hope is that I can put a smile on my clients faces not only during their session , but after their session; and especially when their gallery is delivered.

"Working with her from booking up to when we took our photos was a breeze. She helped me pick out outfits for the family and was so responsive and kind when I was reaching out with questions or needing suggestions. I was so nervous now that our oldest is 17 months and doesn’t know how to sit still but she was so patient with us and completely understood when our toddler kept running away from the camera. Even with all the chaos I felt she was able to calm my anxiety and she got such beautiful photos."

"I found Danielle on a Facebook group over the summer and signed up to be notified for her fall shoots. She was very responsive, easy to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product - we love all the photos. She turned the photos around so quickly too. We’re so happy we chose Danielle to take our family photos this year and will definitely be using her in the future! Thanks again! 😊."

"My husband, 9 month old, and I took family photos for the first with Danielle and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Before we even took the photos she sent so many helpful documents with outfit suggestions and tips for taking pictures with babies! Then when we arrived she was so sweet and did an incredible job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera! Between directing us on how to pose, to making my daughter smile! She was so patient with us and really made sure that we got every shot we wanted!."
