Hey mama! Chances are you landed on this blog post because you want to learn which parks are the best to take photos at in New Jersey. Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m Danielle! I’m a New Jersey family photographer. Since I’m a natural light photographer, I take the majority of my family photos at a local New Jersey park. I listed below my favorites.

New Jersey Park # 1 – Colonial Park – Somerset, New Jersey

Colonial Park is one of my favorite parks to take family photos at. As a New Jersey photographer, I’ve been to many different parks and this one is the most kid friendly. There are large fields for the kids to run and play in. There are 2 lakes which make great backdrops. It also has 2 gardens that families can walk around in and admire the beautiful flowers that bloom every spring. And along with all that, there is a large playground for the kids to play on after the session is over.

New Jersey Park # 2- Cross Estate Gardens – Bernardsville, New Jersey

Being a New Jersey photographer has a perk, I get to travel all over New Jersey scoping out the best parks for your family’s photos. And Cross Estate Gardens in Somerset County is another one of my favorites. This park is beautiful in any season that you are in. But if you want to see the flowers blooming, definitely head there in the spring. Along with the gardens, there are so many other places to explore. And did I mention there is a large tower on the property that looks exactly like Rapunzel’s tower? It’s definitely a great photo opp.

New Jersey Park # 3- Sandy Hook Beach – Monmouth, New Jersey

Okay so this location is more of a summer park but it’s still an awesome location to take photos in the spring (as long as you have a warm day.) But really, no matter what time of year to go the Jersey Shore, it’s going to be beautiful. So if you love a good beach photo, Sandy Hook Beach does not disappoint. Make sure you head down close to sunset so you can get a nice photo of the sun setting behind you. You will have to cross the street and head to the bay side to capture the sunset over the water. Along with the beach, there are many places to explore including Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Lighthouse.
