Hey there! Do you have a Fall family session booked and in need of some fall photo outfit ideas? Or maybe, you just need some inspiration for a DIY photoshoot with your kiddos. Either way, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Danielle. I’m a New Jersey family photographer, and helping my clients out with their wadrobe is one of my favorite things to do! In this blog post, you’ll gain 3 tips to make outfit planning a breeze.
Upon booking a family session with me, I send all my clients a detailed style guide. In the style guide, I give my clients an example color pallette with a blend of natural colors for them to refer to. I recommend going with neutral tones like white, tan, shades of brown & beige for the best look. You want to stay away from bright colors like yellow, pink, light blue & bright green, etc. Those colors tend to clash with the background (especially if you’re at a park or any area where there is a lot of green grass.) To download this style guide, click on the link at the bottom of this blog post!
It’s okay if two or more family members are in the same color. I just recommend not putting every single person in the same color. Using a blend of 2 or 3 colors within the color pallette adds a nice contrast to your overall photos. Again, make sure the colors you choose are matching. You can use the color pallette below as an example.
I always tell my clients to not be afraid to dress up a little. However, that doesn’t mean to put on a ball gown and high heels! I mean to not be afraid to put on a long, flowy boho type dress. Maybe a nice button down on your husband and son. Add a cute bow to your dauther’s hair. Stuff like that is what adds a dressier element to your photos. I always recommend long flowy dresses over short type ones because they are more comfortable and just look better in the photos (in my opinion.) Here are some Amazon Links for dresses that I recommend: Dress # 1 Dress # 2 Dress # 3
There you have it! My top 3 tips for choosing fall photo outits. I hope these tips were helpful, and you will put them to good use for your future session.

EXPLORE SERVICES
My name is Danielle. I started Danielle Stio Photography in 2021. There is something about being an entrepreneur that really motivates me. This is more than a hobby for me. It is a passion and a calling.
I started this business at a very dark time in my life. I was searching for meaning and purpose and I found that through photography. My hope is that I can put a smile on my clients faces not only during their session , but after their session; and especially when their gallery is delivered.

"Working with her from booking up to when we took our photos was a breeze. She helped me pick out outfits for the family and was so responsive and kind when I was reaching out with questions or needing suggestions. I was so nervous now that our oldest is 17 months and doesn’t know how to sit still but she was so patient with us and completely understood when our toddler kept running away from the camera. Even with all the chaos I felt she was able to calm my anxiety and she got such beautiful photos."

"I found Danielle on a Facebook group over the summer and signed up to be notified for her fall shoots. She was very responsive, easy to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product - we love all the photos. She turned the photos around so quickly too. We’re so happy we chose Danielle to take our family photos this year and will definitely be using her in the future! Thanks again! 😊."

"My husband, 9 month old, and I took family photos for the first with Danielle and I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Before we even took the photos she sent so many helpful documents with outfit suggestions and tips for taking pictures with babies! Then when we arrived she was so sweet and did an incredible job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera! Between directing us on how to pose, to making my daughter smile! She was so patient with us and really made sure that we got every shot we wanted!."
