I’ve been a maternity and family photographer in New Jersey for the past 4 years. My passion is to capture this special time in your life and make it live on forever in your hearts. In this blog post, I highlight 3 of my favorite locations in the Central, New Jersey area.
Cross Estate Gardens in Bernardsville
Cross Estate Gardens is definitely among the top locations to do a maternity session in New Jersey. Not only are the gardens absolutely beautiful; the grounds that surround the garden are gorgeous too. There are also amazing structures within the gardens that make incredible backdrops. My favorite is the long trellis that overhangs with ivy and other greenery. There is also a field with some amazing tall grass which looks incredible during golden hour!
Location # 2 – Sandy Hook Beach in Atlantic Highlands
As a New Jersey maternity photographer, I’ve scoped out a lot of epic locations. Sandy Hook Beach in Atlantic Highlands is one of my favorite locations, especially in the summer months! If you’re looking for a great beachy vibe on your maternity session and live in in the central or north part of New Jersey; then Sandy Hook is a great location. The beach is filled with pretty sand dunes, and large rocks against the shore line. On a clear day, you can even see the New York City skyline! One of my favorite things about this location is that you can cross the street and take stunning sunset photos at the bay. This location definitely makes a drive to the Jersey Shore worthwhile!
Location # 3 Lenape Park in Cranford
The last location I’ll cover is Lenape Park in Cranford. Being a New Jersey maternity photographer, I get to experience a lot of great locations. We can go from beachy vibes all the way to beautiful meadows. And Lenape Park is a location that offers a gorgeous meadow and a rustic wooden fence. Pair those two with a golden hour sunset, and you have a beautiful landscape for your maternity photos. Lenape Park is a little off the beaten path which makes it another reason it’s one of my favorite locations. So if you’re looking for a more quiet and relaxed location, then Lenape Park is a great option.

New Jersey Maternity Photographer: 3 Epic Locations
Newborns
Newborn sessions are taken in the comfort of your own home. Sessions are scheduled one - three weeks after the baby's birth. Photos include the whole family and are mostly candid. Little props are used.
maternity
Maternity Sessions are taken between 28-34 weeks. Sessions are taken at golden hour (one hour before sunset.) Poses include individual images of the mama to be, and poses with a spouse/partner.
families
Family sessions are taken at golden hour (one hour before sunset). Poses are mostly candid & organic; although some posed images will be sprinkled in.
